Tag4you for Flickr - Help - Recognition
About the recognition system
The recognition system helps you tag photos by suggesting a few possibilities of who the person might be.
This functionality is in a closed beta, what does this mean? Here are a few points:
- It isn’t active by default, if you want to join please use the registration form.
- It is still not stable. Please let us know if you experience any problems.
- It is being tuned so you might get poor results, this will improve in the future.
Profiles
Each time you tag a face it is added to a profile of that person. This profile is used to identify the person in future photos. When a persons profile is built from many examples of his face it is more accurate. Currently each user has a maximum of 10 profiles (people) each one must have at least 5 photos. In order to reach reasonable performance you should have at least 10 photos of a person. At the moment profiles are created when the account is initialized, profiles are created from the photos you have tagged. The profiles are recalculated from time to time. If you would like to update the profiles you can email the support or use the feedback form and ask to update your profiles. In the near future we will allow you to view and control this process on your own.
Tagging
When you tag photos with out the recognition active, bellow each face is a list of people (or tags). When the recognition is active the first three people in the list are those that look like the person in the photo. You can choose any person from the list, the first three or any other one.
Note:
- The recognition will not work on a photo that has already been tagged only on new photos.
- detection system (that finds a face) finds also faces that will not be recognized so don’t expect every face displayed to be recognized.
